Custom router base plates
We design and make a base plate for your router: a wider support, guide-rail mounting or replaceable sliding pads. Dimensions and construction are agreed for the specific model, accessories and operation.

A router base built around the job
Working on narrow stock, routing close to an edge or adding guide-rail support? The support area, cutter position and adjustment all matter. We design a new base or develop an existing arrangement around the demands of your work.
We prepare the CAD model and specify plate thickness, cutter clearance, fixings and sliding surfaces. The design accounts for screw access, locking adjustments and use with a guide bush, rail or jig. Manufacture and the fit check are included in the agreed scope.
Materials and details designed to work together
CNC-machined aluminium
The main plate and mounting parts are machined around the tool geometry. Grade, thickness and finish are selected for the loads and support arrangement.
Sliding surfaces and replaceable parts
PE500 and PE1000 are options for sliding pads; POM, PA6 or PET can suit other mechanical components. Selection depends on friction, contact pressure and dimensional requirements.
Steel fasteners, locks and adjustment
Connections need to remain accessible and practical to adjust. Screws, head recesses, clamps and adjustment points are specified for the mounting and guiding arrangement.
A clear view of the work
Clear plates or inserts can be designed in acrylic PMMA or polycarbonate PC. Selection depends on loading and visibility requirements; their impact and scratch resistance differ.

- Brand, complete router model and the type of base you use.
- Photos of the whole base and the plate mounting points.
- Hole spacing, diameters and screw-head recesses, if known.
- Required outline, thickness and cutter-opening size.
- The operation: what supports the router, how it is guided and which cutter you use.
Designed for your router and fitted base
Makita DRT50, Bosch GKF 600, DeWalt DCW600 or a Festool router: tell us the model and base version. We check the actual mounting points and accessories to design for your specific setup.
Before manufacture we agree how to check mounting, support and cutter clearance. The design accounts for guards and access to the tool controls.

Selected first designs may qualify for our catalogue development programme. Participation and scope require prior agreement with CLMS. Submitting a request does not grant a free prototype — read the terms and describe your need.
Before you send a request
Can I order a base for just one router?
Yes. We undertake custom projects from one piece. You receive the design scope, manufacturing details and quote before work starts.
Can you make a router base from a photo?
A photo is enough for an initial assessment. Before manufacture we will establish mounting dimensions or arrange to measure the original base.
Can you design a router base for my existing guide rail?
Yes. Send the router and rail models, with photos of their profiles and mounting points. The design will address the connection, adjustment and required support.
Does the entire base have to be aluminium?
No. Aluminium can be combined with replaceable sliding pads, engineering plastics or a clear insert. The quote sets out the proposed materials and construction.
